The flag of Perigord is a flag, that shows the image of the coat of arms as it was used from 1360. In 1360, with the Treaty of Brétigny, the Perigord came to the English crown as a county. The coat of arms shows a red shield with three golden, blue crowned and armored lions. The origin of the coat of arms seems to be in the dark. Possibly it goes back to the enfeoffment by the English crown in the year 1360, because the English liked to put lions in their coats of arms.
