This was the flag, probably also the official flag (state flag) of the state of Thuringia between 1920 and 1933. The use of the official flag was reserved for offices and authorities. The territorial federal state structure of the German Empire was replaced by the Gaue of the NSDAP in 1934, the states became meaningless. The lion in the shield of the coat of arms held a golden swastika in his right paw. Its representation was omitted here.
