The colors of almost all Wettin countries in Saxony and Thuringia changed to white and green between 1817 and 1830. Sachsen-Weimar-Eisenach did not follow this regulation. The Grand Duchy introduced a flag in the colors black, green and yellow around 1813. The order of the colors was changed to black-yellow-green in 1897. This theoretical flag shows the state colors with the middle coat of arms in the middle.
