The colors of almost all Wettin countries in Saxony and Thuringia changed from black and gold to white and green between 1815 and 1830. This theoretical flag shows the state colors black and gold that were valid for the Duchy of Saxony-Coburg-Gotha before 1815. There is no evidence of actual use in practice. State colors as flags only became modern in the German landlocked countries around 1830.
