This theoretical flag combines the state colors of the principalities of Reuss (in Thuringia) with the coat of arms. According to the rules, this flag could have looked like this, but it probably never existed, but it is decorative and avoids confusion, because the flag actually did not have a coat of arms, and it is in this way similar to the flag of today's Germany (FRG). At the end of the monarchies, in 1918, there were still two Reussian lands: the Principality of Reuss Junior Line and the Principality of Reuss Senior Line. "Reuss" is in German written as "Reuß".
