State colours of Mecklenburg, size: 150 x 90 cm

The country of Mecklenburg was ruled for centuries by two lines of the Obotrites dynasty, most recently Mecklenburg-Schwerin and Mecklenburg-Strelitz. The flag and the state colors, if they did not have a coat of arms, were the same for both parts of the country. The flag of Mecklenburg was always in the colors blue, white and red, but the state colors were blue, yellow and red, from 1863 onwards. The GDR was also divided into states between 1949 and 1952. The state of Mecklenburg in the GDR, also displayed this flag.
