Archbishopric of Trier, flag, to 1794, with coat of arms, size: 150 x 90 cm

In 1794 the French revolutionary army marched in, the Archbishopric and Electorate of Trier lost its independence and was dissolved in 1801. Normally, the country flew the simple cross flag. This flag serves mainly decorative purposes and also features the coat of arms to avoid any confusion, for example with England, Guernsey or Genoa.
