The Duchy of Bukovina was an Austrian crown land of the Habsburg monarchy. From the 19th century, striped flags with the state colors were used in the crown lands. This decorative flag shows the state colors of Bukovina, red and blue, and the coat of arms of the crown land, which was used until 1918. The state colors are taken from the country's coat of arms. These are the colors of the old Principality of Moldova, to which Bukovina belonged until 1775.
