The coats of arms of the Republika Srpska and the Bosnian-Croatian Federation (and also the flag of the Federation) were banned on 15th of June in 2007 by the government of Bosnia-Herzegovina, because they showed a too strong national character, or were easily to confuse with other symbols of other states. The Republika Srpska adopted a seal as a replacement in the same year.
