The Polish state ended with the last partition of Poland in 1795, when Poland was divided between Russia, Austria and Prussia. After Napoléon invaded the region (1806), he created the Duchy of Warsaw in 1807, which was under the Saxon crown until 1815. It used a flag that had two horizontal stripes in white and vermilion. At the end of the era of Napoléon - at the Congress of Vienna (March 29th, 1815) - the Duchy of Warsaw was divided between Prussia, Russia and the Free State of Krakau (Krakow).
