In 1858, a new national flag was introduced. The flag showed three horizontal stripes, in black, gold and white, the colors of the coat of arms and white, the color of Saint George. This ensign was used until 1915. Even today it is used in Russia by the monarchists. The white-blue-red flag remained valid during this time as merchant and state flag.
