In April 2014, in eastern Ukraine - in Novorussia - the Republic of Lugansk was proclaimed. This flag was used between 7th of April in 2014 and 18th of May in 2014 and it showed a Cyrillic inscription, a design that was widely used but not useful because the other side of the flag appears mirror-imaged and is therefore not readable.
