The Grand Duchy of Transylvania was a Hungarian crown land of the Habsburg monarchy. From the 19th century, striped flags with the colors of the country were used in the crown lands. The flag with the colors of Transylvania had three horizontal stripes in blue, red and gold. The colors come from the country's coat of arms, it is divided by a red bar between blue and gold. This theoretical but decorative flag shows the colors of Transylvania with the coat of arms of the crown land in the middle.
