Duchy of Saxony, flag from 1180, size: 150 x 90 cm

The colors of Saxony have always been black and gold. This decorative flag shows the coat of arms on the state colors. The Duchy of Saxony was in the hands of the Ascanians from 1180 and came to the House of Wettin in 1423, from 1806 the Kings of Saxony. Nevertheless, this flag is pure theory, even if it follows heraldic rules, because its practical use in those centuries is questionable.
